Content created by Professor Deborah Lipstadt in conjunction with Maureen MacLaughlin and Dan Leshem. دعوی: انکارکنندگان هولوکاست ادعا می‏کنند که "گزارش لوکتر" (Leuchter Report)، که آن را به عنوان "علم بی‏طرف" جلوه می‏دهند، عدم وجود اتاق‏های گاز را در آشویتز ثابت می‏کند. در مقدمه این گزارش، دیوید ایروینگ (David Irving)، انکارکننده انگلیسی هولوکاست، می‏نویسد: "بر خلاف نوشته‏های تاریخی، شیمی یک علم دقیق است.... این گزارش به نتایج اعجاب‏آوری رسیده است.... هیچ اثر مهمی [از سیانور هیدروژن]  در... اتاق‏های گاز ننگین اردوگاه... پیدا نشده است.... من باز هم تکرار می‏کنم که شیمی قانونی  یک علم دقیق است."

پاسخ: علیرغم ادعاهای ایروینگ و لوکتر در باب حقیقت بی‏طرف، گزارش لوکتر "علم دقیق" نیست. روش‏های لوکتر به شدت معیوب است و نتیجه‏گیری‏های وی اشتباه است. حتی همین واقعیت هم که "آثار ناچیزی" در خرابه‏های اتاق‏های گاز، که سال‏های سال در معرض عوامل دیگر قرار داشته‏اند، پیدا شده است خود دلیلی است بر وجود اتاق‏های گاز در آشویتز- بیرکناو.
